First convention of Arthakranti
It was the first convention of ‘Arthakranti’, held at KeshavSrusthi (Mhalagi Prabodhini’s training centre in Mumbai) on 23rd and 24th Aug, 08.
Purpose of the convention was to bring everyone (contributing actively to Arthakranti) closer and see if we can evolve a framework to be able to work more effectively towards the mission of Arthakranti.
First Day
The convention began with very interesting session of reciting the journey of Arthakranti so far and introduction of associated individuals, where everyone shared not only about his/her identity but also about connection to Arthakranti and own journey on track of Arthakranti so far. It was really wonderful to know the various aspects with which everyone is connected to Arthakranti, however all reflecting the underlying values for Principled, Prosperous and Peaceful living! That was all on the first day.
Second Day
On the second day, it began with
- Every region (Pune, Aurangabad, Satara, Nasik, Latur & Mumbai) sharing about
- ‘What & How’ they are contributing to Arthakranti
- Who all are involved in it
- What are the next plans
- What challenges they are facing today or foresee
It really gave holistic picture of what all varied kinds of activities and initiatives are going on under mission of Arthakranti, which was inspiring for all of us and helped with so many ideas & good practices floating around. Pune group emerged to be evolved more in generating different kinds of initiatives around thinking over the principles & basics of Arthakranti, where as Aurangabad group emerged as activist with so many and so many kinds of activities going around and Mumbai emerged as taking leadership in vertical thrust of pursuing polity and influentials for implementing Arthakranti’s proposal.
- After heat being generated with inspiration sharing about activities, obvious part was trying to shape up the evolving flow of enthusiasm and integrity. With an interactive session throwing light on the meaning of organization and movement, thoughts were shared about how Arthakranti organization can be structured in itself and in relation with movement and how both can serve effective for the mission. Then there was constructive debate on how that can be more effective, part of which was concluded on and part was put on hold to be taken up later. In brief, management committee, which will involve regional representatives and functional heads, was decided to be apex executive body of Arthakranti.
- The convention ended with volunteers coming up to take up responsibilities as regional representatives and functional heads.
All in all it was felt that we should have more such conventions to seek emerging order from the evolving chaos of the movement, for marching effectively towards the mission of Arthakranti.
