Our nation is like a huge ship sailing in the middle of the sea. Just when it looked like sailing smooth, it hits a hidden rock suffering damage causing water to rush into compartments from bottom side.

• The lower spaces are occupied by the Unorganized Class which is running around, screaming and is in a state of panic. The only way for them to survive is to move upwards.
• The Organized Class sleeps behind closed doors, feeling secure with their pensions, insurance and provident funds. They do hear the odd scream but pretend otherwise, to avoid responsibility.
• The rich and Elite Class – the blessed few are up enjoying the view. They don’t even know that ship is taking in water.

But this ignorance - real or fake - will not prevent all passengers from sinking, in the worst scenario. What follows is a brief look at the socio-economic reality of our country with reference to the interests of different segments of our population.
